JEFFERSON SCHOOL PTO

Dear Parents,

We wish you all a very warm welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Jefferson School!

This year may be challenging, and vastly different than any of us had envisioned, but we want you to know that our mission of supporting our Jaguars and educators will ALWAYS remain the same. We are thrilled to have you and your family as members of our community!

We know that some of our Jaguars will be remote learning and will not be coming into the building, but regardless of where your children spend their school hours learning, we consider ALL of our families to be an essential part of our community. One of the things that makes our School so special is the partnership between our dedicated teachers, staff, support teams, and the involvement and support from our families.

We also need you to join the PTO. Our membership drive pays for our directory and helps fund a myriad of programs throughout the year. The more successful the membership drive is, the less we need to ask for funds through the school year. As a member of the PTO you will receive a directory and will receive our weekly email newsletter. Your generosity is appreciated!

What does the PTO do? Where does my contribution go? It’s a great question. It seems we are always for your financial support, right? The PTO is an essential partner at Jefferson School. Our leadership, volunteer hours and financial support make many events possible that otherwise would not happen. These events and programs include, but are not limited to:

Fall Festival • Field Trips • Cultural Assemblies • Father Daughter Dance • Mother Son Event • Jefferson Actors’ Guild (JAG) • Gardening • Family Movie Night • Family Game Night • Jefferson Alumni Scholarship • Little Free Library • Author Visits • Indoor and Outdoor Recess Games • Spelling Bee • Grandparent’s Reading Day

We also fund improvements on the campus including: New filtered water fountains- refill stations throughout the school • New picnic style tables on the blacktop • New benches near the entrance of the school in honor of Mr. DeMuro and Mrs. Natale • New Blacktop paintings for four square, basketball lines, number grid and the large United States map • This year we are focused on raising funds and installing shade structures around the blacktop.

Our goal, as your PTO Executive Board, is to represent Jefferson School to the best of our ability and make a real difference for our students and staff. We welcome and need your involvement to make good things happen. If you have an idea, question or concern, we want to hear it! Please check out our website, www.jeffersonschoolpto.com and like us on Facebook to stay up to date.

Here’s to a successful year full of fun and teamwork!

Our best,

2020-2021 Jefferson School PTO Executive Board
