Volunteer Committees

  • Art in the Classroom: Present pre-written lessons on specific artists to your child’s and/or other classrooms. Everything is planned for you and supplies are provided. Work with the classroom teacher to find a date and go have some fun!
  • Book Fair: Scholastic book fair, setup & take down, run activities during Family Reading Night, etc. The Book Fair is held in March.
  • Box Tops Rewards Programs: Encourage class participation in collection of Box Tops, counting Box Tops and communicating how classes are doing in a fun competition to earn a pizza party for most Box Tops collected.
  • Dining for Dollars: Help organize and publicize fundraising evenings at local eateries.  
  • Fall Festival:  Help run Fall Festival event stations, solicit donations, setup & clean up. Fall Festival is October 14, 2017
  • Father-Daughter Dance: Help setup and cleanup event, bake/buy goods for dessert table, work during event. The Dance will be held in March.
  • Field Day: Help run this fun filled outdoor sports related event organized by Mr. Fenska. Field Day is held in October.
  • Grandparents' Reading Day: ​Help organize and work during this wonderful event where Grandparents visit Jefferson and spend time reading aloud with students in Grades 1-3.
  • Green Team: Help our green efforts at Jefferson School including participating in Gardening Days to weed, plant and care for Jefferson’s garden areas during Fall planting (October), Spring Clean Up (April) and occasional weeding days as well as identifying opportunities for our school to become more environmentally friendly.
  • Library Volunteer: Volunteer helping to shelve books, check books in & out.
  • Mother-Son Night: Help setup and cleanup event, bake/buy goods for food table, work during event. The event is held in May.
  • Family Movie Night: Promote event, help with setup and clean-up, run concession stand, etc.
  • Publicity: Help to promote Jefferson events in local publications and throughout town.
  • Representative/Advocates: Act as liaison between Jefferson and local groups. Attend Board of Education, Speak Up Summit, SPARC Arts Program, etc. Attend occasional meetings, share feedback with broader Jefferson community.
  • Spanish Translation: Help to translate PTO written materials, email communications, and spoken translation as necessary.
  • Spelling Bee: Help to setup and organize the 4th & 5th grade Spelling Bee.
  • Supermarket Gift Card Program: promote and sell Supermarket gift cards.
  • Teacher Appreciation: Help to setup and provide luncheon items, setup for week long festivities, decorate school, etc. during Teacher Appreciation Week. Teacher Appreciation week is in May.
